ST. OSCAR ROMERO, EASTVALE, CA.

Mission Statement

The Catholic Community of Saint Oscar Romero is devoted to making our community a place where God enters people’s lives through Prayer, Silence, Reconciliation, Eucharist, Community and Service, and where we strive to make Jesus Christ more known and more loved!

Our History

The Catholic Community of Saint Oscar Romero was established in 2015 as Blessed Oscar Romero Parish with the opening Mass on November 29, 2015 at Jurupa Valley High School. The founding pastor, Father Patrick V. Kirsch, tirelessly lead the flock of this faith community growing numbers of the registered families to 800, building many ministries, and establishing a thriving congregation of believers. In 2016, the Mass location was moved to Rosa Parks Elementary School and eventually to the present location, Dr. Augustine Ramirez Intermediate School.

On October 14, 2018, our parish patron, Blessed Oscar Romero, was canonized in Rome. On November 25, 2018, Bishop Barnes celebrated a Mass with our community officially naming us Saint Oscar Romero Catholic Church.

In July 2021, Fr. Johnny Dang became our Parish Administrator.

In July 2022, Fr. Tomás Guillén became our new and current Parish Administrator.

With the help of our 1,200 registered families, we are currently working toward getting modular buildings on our parish property on Chandler street to provide a gathering space for our community.
