MIDDLE SCHOOL FAITH FORMATION
Saint Oscar Romero’s Middle School Faith Formation is for youth in grades 6-8th. Our ministry is a family-catechetical based model; designed to meet the catechetical and educational aspects back to the homes of the families of the youth.
The parents being the primary educators of the Child’s Faith Formation. Our Ministry supports this effort by providing educational resources and Mandatory Parent Monthly Meetings. This program is reflective of the Churches teaching, that the Parents are the primary Teachers of their children. The Catechism of the Catholic Church says this (#2226) “Education in the faith by the parents should begin in the child’s earliest years…Parents have the Mission of teaching their children to pray and to discover their vocation as children of God”. The proper formation of the child in the Faith is at least as important if not more important than any other extracurricular activity the child is involved with. At the beginning of every month all parents will be given, via email, at-home reading assignments, reflections, and prayers for the student and parent to work on together for that month. Students will be required to complete a short “Unit Review” for each month.
Any families interested in enrolling their child, should download the following packet, print, fill out the documents, and bring them with the copies of the child’s Birth, Baptism, & First Communion Certificate(s) to Parish Office.
We thank and welcome all new/returning Children’s Faith Formation families. As we initiate this 2023-2024 catechetical year, be assured of our prayers!
